Midsummer’s Eve Giveaway Hop– June 21 – June 30
Summer Reading
GoodReads Synopsis
On the face of it, Rebecca Bloomwood has it all. Confident, single and happily living in des-res Fulham with her best friend Suze, she's a financial journalist who spends her days writing articles advising other people on the importance of budgeting and prudent investing. Her private life is a different story though; Rebecca manages her own finances in a way that would make most of her readers' hair curl--for Rebecca is a woman on a mission--she just can't stop spending.
I look up and I'm in front of Octagon. My favourite shop in the whole world. Three floors of clothes, accessories, furnishing, gifts, coffee shops, juice bars and a florist which makes you want to fill your entire home with flowers. I've got my purse with me. Just something small, to cheer me up. A T-shirt or something. Or even some bubble bath. I won't spend much. I'll just go in and... I'm already pushing my way through the doors. Oh God, the relief. The warmth, the light. This is where I belong. This is my natural habitat.

My 'summer' reading looks remarkably similar to my spring, fall and winter reading. That is to say books, books, and more books. I've got books on the nightstand, books by my reading chair, books on my ereader, and audiobooks on the iPod. Thank goodness for libraries and book-blogger giveaways!
ReplyDeleteLove Dragons, other worlds.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I'd have to say historical romances (esp ones set in Scotland and/or have "lairds" in them) for some reason I am ADDICTED and can NOT get enough of them!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite summer reading is mysteries and romances.
ReplyDeleteI do not have a favorite. There are too many wonderful authors and books I cannot hardly wait to read!
ReplyDeleteYA summery books normally. Any books about summer vacation with a cute romance story. But every now and then I will enjoy a good winter book.
ReplyDeleteI'm not really a "seasonal" reader, but Magic Breaks by Ilona Andrews and Cast in Flame by Michelle Sagara are at the top of my Summer TBR this year!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite summer reading usually is a book set in a summer or tropical location, I love to feel or smell the ocean when I read!
ReplyDeleteAdventure books or outdoors settings. Although, honestly I read whatever I want when i want. Seasons don't make a difference unless it is Holiday-centric.

ReplyDeleteI like reading Percy Jackson and Harry Potter during the summer:) Or re-reading, I suppose
ReplyDeleteI am always up for a good mystery or thriller.
ReplyDeleteI love Elin Hilderbrand's books during the summer because they take place at the beach!
