Author Interview: Hollywood Ever After by Sasha Summers

Little Blurb about yourself

I’m a mother, a writer, a reader, and a painter

1. Who or what inspired you to become a writer?
I’ve always loved to write. And I’ve always loved stories. A couple of years ago I was impacted by the economic down-turn. Suddenly, I had a lot of time – writing just happened.

2. How long did it take you to write Hollywood Ever After?
It took me about eight months to write Hollywood Ever After – with the help of my amazing critique group.

3. While writing how many times do you go back and rewrite a plot?
I did one MAJOR plot change. And it was major. People who had read the first draft were completely thrown by it – but it was a much tighter, stronger story afterwards. I’m really pleased with the way it came out.

4. You run into a bookstore, where do you go first?
I amble. If I’m in a bookstore, I’m in no hurry. I will walk up and down the aisles, stare at the end-caps and sales tables… Love bookstores. 

5. How many books in a month do you tend to read?
2 or 3 normally. Unless I happen to pick up one that’s impossible to put down.

6. In all the books you've read. Who is your most favorite character and why?
That question is impossible for me to answer, sorry. A character that immediately springs to mind: St. Clair in Anna and the French Kiss. I loved him. He was so… adorable to me.

7. State 5 random facts about yourself.
I’m attempting to give up caffeine (3 wks straight)
I love scary movies
I hate it when people bite their nails
I’ve been bitten (several times) by a python
I have four kids – the very best kids in the world

8. Your favorite Genre?
Nope – can’t answer that. I read and write in too many to pick.  Sorry!

9. What are you currently reading?
Almost finished with Game of Thrones. Then I’m on to Darynda Jones First Grave on the Right.

10. What is the best book you've read?
Another impossible question for me. A few of my go-to books are: Animal Farm, 1984, Lord of the Flies, A Handmaid’s Tale, Outlander, Heather and Velvet, Lily of the Nile…

11. Any new projects coming up?
YES! Book 2 of the Red Carpet Series comes out in December: Hollywood Holiday. I’m working on Book 3 now. I also have a scifi holiday novella coming out in December AND Book 2 of my Loves of Olympus (a romantic fantasy series) coming out in January! So far, I’m keeping busy!

Here’s your chance to market your book. Describe it. And why readers should pick it up?
Hollywood Ever After is a smart and sexy read. From likable and relatable characters to dream-like settings, it’s the perfect summer getaway… a great beach read!
