Author Interview : Nightfall by P.W. Creighton

Little Blurb about yourself:

Author of the Psychological, Supernatural Thriller Series Nightfall, Writer, adventurer, archaeologist, photographer, videographer, Tech-Geek, and investigator, between rock climbing, sailing and investigations, there's barely enough time in the day but it's all a modern adventure

1. Who or what inspired you to become a writer?

I’ve always had a very creative imagination, thinking of all of the adventures imaginary characters were having. Writing just seemed like the right outlet to vent the stories but it wasn’t until my first college creative writing class that I found out I had a real talent for it.

2. How long did it take you to write Nightfall?

I wrote Nightfall over the span of a summer. It started with a short story only a few pages long but I could picture the entire story around that moment and I just started writing it down and piecing it together. When I finished it, the story just kept flowing so I continued writing into the second and third in the series.

3. While writing how many times do you go back and rewrite a plot?

The plot of Nightfall has remained relatively unchanged since the original concept however, there were several major revisions that switched the story from a third-person POV to first and a few stylistic changes.

4. You run into a bookstore, where do you go first?

I make a beeline for the Urban Fantasy and Mystery sections. I’m lucky if I don’t walk out of the store with another armload of books. My TBR pile covers a shelf now.

5. How many books in a month do you tend to read?

When I’m not caught in edits or projects I can roll through 4-5 good books in a month.

6. In all the books you've read. Who is your most favorite character and why?

Harry Dresden from the Dresden files. Throughout the series he was a very relatable and down to earth character. The fact that he was so down to earth with a banger car and a cynical attitude to boot just made him entertaining.

7. State 5 random facts about yourself.

-I love ghost hunting shows.
-I love the ocean.
-I have three cats and a hedgehog.
-I love 80’s music.
-I haven’t had a Mountain Dew in over a month.

8. Your favorite Genre?

Supernatural Thrillers. The mix of reality and that touch of mystery/horror keep me enthralled. I used to love paranormal mysteries and urban fantasy but I’m a bit over saturated in it at the moment.

9. What are you currently reading?

I’m just starting Grave Witch by Kalayna Price. I haven’t gotten very far in it while I’m caught up in the edits of Nightfall’s sequel.

10. What is the best book you've read?

So far my favorite is Dead Beat by Jim Butcher. Halloween, a zombie T-Rex and Dresden, enough said.

11. Any new projects coming up?

Currently editing the sequel to Nightfall and a non-fiction supernatural guide book, both should be ready in a couple of months, and then it’s onto the third. I have about eight of the Nightfall series sketched out so far.

Here’s your chance to market your book. Describe it. And why readers should pick it up?

Supernatural crossed with Burn Notice. Smart, believable and realistic characters that have you invested in how their lives work out. Caught between the memories of childhood friends, nightmares of the past and a rapidly dwindling list of friends it’s a constant fight to keep moving, and living.
