Mine:
This is a cute story, that is similar to the parable of the same idea. In this the Lion is caught and caged, not that a thorn has to be pulled out of his paw.

The wonderful thing about these stories is the colorful illustrations and wonderful voices that read the stories. The characters are brought to life and almost come off the page.

Mine:
A shorter version of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears with just one bear that befriends the little boy. The bear is nice enough to finally give up the bed for the chair so he can watch over the boy for the night when he goes to bed.

After spending time in his room and having time to think he comes out to forgive his Grandma. He realizes that the person is more important than the prize of the new Yellow Hummer. What a wonderful story about material things not being all there is.

Mine:
I was hunting for book apps for my iPhone, this can be found in Read Me Stories. This is an adorable book with wonderful pictures and a cute story about Hedgehogs. The story tells that they come out at night and what they eat grubs (yuck!). This is a wonderful book to keep a young one occupied and although my nephews are past that age they would have loved it.

Mine: This is a great new series (to me) and of course it has frogs in it, so how can I not read it?

Once again the illustrations can’t help but tell the wonderful story of how frog disappears and boy and dog are frantically looking for him. They search everywhere – they run into trouble all along the way also. The gopher bites boys nose, the dog gets chased by the hornets from the next he knocks down. The owl in the tree scares boy and the buck with big antlers throws boy and dog over the ledge. This is where they discover frog and his family.

Once again the illustrations can’t help but tell the wonderful story of how frog must learn to get along with another frog. He has difficulty as all things new with something different when they were the first. Frog pushes and prods the new frog until he gets lost and boy, dog and turtle look for him. They are awful upset with frog for making it difficult for the new frog.

Mine: My nephews know I love all books that have to do with frogs, so they bought me a set of several of the “Froggy” series for Christmas.
Frogs are suppose to sleep through winter (as should everyone else), but he didn’t want to there was snow out. As he dressed to go out he forgot something – his pants. He came in and got dressed all over again and then he forgot his shirt and coat. He once again comes in to try to get dressed – what no long johns? Once more time he comes back in – it’s just too much and he decides to go back to bed.
That’s the way I feel – why else live in California. The snow is always fun and pretty, but the layers of close that are needed are often too much.

Mine: Beautifully illustrated book with textured pages. What a wonderful story about how we all need to take care of each other in this world. So that owl could be found in the snow (since he is a snow owl – white). Rabbit makes him a red hat so that he can be spotted when he’s out in the snow.

Unfortunately the Red Fox can see the owl. Everyone is shouting – “take the hat off” when he does the fox walks right by. Owl finds a new wonderful use for his red hat – a nice bed to sleep in.
