Release Event/Giveaway : Meant for Her by Raine Thomas

Raine Thomas is celebrating the release of her latest New Adult Contemporary Romance, Meant for Her! We have a guest post and giveaway below to help celebrate!

Release: November 17, 2013
Published by Iambe Books, LLC
Amazon | Barnes and Noble | Goodreads

Photographer Sierra Stratton views the world through a lens all her own. She has an uncanny sense about people, something that often causes her trouble. When she meets the sexy and brooding Evan Dorsey, her intuition tells her he’s suffering, and she wants to be the one to help him.
Evan isn’t open to help from anyone, however. His focus is on his Major League career and making himself as marketable as possible for his upcoming free agency. He plans to ride out the season in Atlanta and then sign with another team, away from the painful memories that haunt him.
Someone’s eager to send him on his way, too. Between anonymous threats and equipment sabotage, it’s clear he’s earned himself an enemy along the way. To him, it’s one more sign that he’s right to move on.
But Sierra threatens his conviction. Her contagious smile proves hard to resist, as does her kiss. She tempts him in ways he never anticipated, making him question his plans for the first time. If he’s not careful, she might just convince him that he’s meant for her.

Author’s Favorite Quotes from Meant for Her by Raine Thomas
Part I

Raine: The female lead in Meant for Her is photographer Sierra Stratton. Sierra’s insight into others—especially into love interest, Evan Dorsey—sometimes makes them uncomfortable. Other times, though, such as when she first speaks to Evan, her words are powerful enough to heal.

“I can see that you’re in a dark place,” she said, touching the side of his face. It was just the whisper of a caress, but it made his throat tighten. “It’s good that you honor the memory of this person you loved. But don’t be afraid to live now. What you’ve gone through, it will bring you where you need to be. Even the stars can’t shine without darkness.”

Raine: Meant for Her is a stand alone novel, but characters from my book, For Everly, make appearances. Cole Parker from For Everly is best friends with Evan. Some of their exchanges were the most fun for me to write, including this one:

“How’d you get up here?” Evan asked, trying to keep Miller and Beck from flying out into the hallway.

Cole grinned. “I happen to know the property manager really well. She’s seen me in my underwear doing naughty things.”

Raine: I also enjoyed Sierra’s friends, Hannah and Zoe. Shortly after they meet sizzlin’ hot Aussie Evan, they share this exchange:

“I’ll ask for your check,” Sierra said. “No worries.”

“Ooo,” Hannah giggled. “If you could get your new neighbor to say, ‘No worries, mate,’ that would be fan-freaking-tastic.”

Poking Hannah in the side, Zoe said, “How cliché. Next you’re going to want him to grill another shrimp on the barbie.”

“Only if he says it before he does.”

Excerpt

EXCERPT 1
The two hours left of orientation pass quickly due to my fantasizing about Claire Peters and before I know it, she’s announced it’s time for lunch. I stand and wait for all the other interns to exit the room. I have no desire to make friends with any of those twits. I focus on the one girl I really want to know.

She might be the one to help me find the files, I remind myself. Anyway, I might as well have some fun while I’m here.

She’s sitting at the front of the room sorting papers when I stop at her desk. I wait for her to look up and when she does, I offer my signature smile.

“So, tell me what I missed, Miss Claire,” I say, grabbing a seat and sitting across from her.

“We were discussing some of the cases you’ll be representing this summer and some of the extra-curricular activities that are expected of you outside the office.”

I smile. “Sounds lovely.” And it does sound lovely since I won’t be here longer than seven days. I think I’m having some sort of an effect on this woman, although she’s a tough one to crack. She notices my flirting and she hasn’t totally brushed me off, but she’s reserved. She’s going to be a challenge, but that’s okay. I never back down from a challenge.

I have roughly a week to get this girl into my bed, and I’m prepared to pull out all the stops to get her there. In fact, I’m going to up the ante and say I can have her there in five.

Oh yeah, and I need to worry about those files. I scold myself for getting off task so easily. Claire Peters is way too distracting.

“What time is this orientation over today?”

“Your schedule will be located in your packet, Thomas, but most days we end at five pm.”

Five pm! Hell, my whole day has just been shot. I lay my head back on the chair in exasperation, which results in Claire giving me a small giggle. I raise my head and decide to up my game.

Before I can even begin, she beats me to the punch. “How come you don’t look familiar? I interviewed all the interns, but I don’t remember you.”

Oh shit. What do I say? My brain goes a million miles an hour, but I don’t panic. I’m used to the lies and deceit. “I remember you.”

A small blush creeps across her cheeks, and that’s when I know I have her. This will be easier than I thought. I lean in and put my arm on her desk. It’s a risk because this chick scares easily. I can’t get too cocky.

“So, Claire, I hear you’re the best intern teacher they’ve ever had at this office.”

At that, Claire leans her head back and laughs. I love the sound of her laughter and for a minute, I forget why I’m here and what I’m doing. I want to live forever with her in this moment. She really might be an angel and for a second, my guard slips away. Maybe she’s too good for me. Maybe I won’t get this girl into my bed after all, because maybe she’s above that.

The moment quickly ends and the mask settles back on my face.

Claire stops laughing. “Well, whoever told you that only said it because I’m the only intern teacher.”

“The only one?”

“That’s right. We just started this program about three years ago, and I’ve been the teacher since the start. Mr. Birch put me in charge, and I’ve never looked back.”

I admire her strength and drive. This girl is going to be something one day. She’ll amount to a hell of a lot more than I have. My cocky façade slips again and the words slip involuntarily from my mouth. “Claire, you’re going to go far in life.”

She looks at me, and gratitude flows through her eyes. “Thanks, Thomas. That means a lot.”

I shake my head and stand. I’ve got to get out of here. I can talk to her after class about the files, but right now this girl is stripping me bare. I’m even considering telling her my real name because I hate her calling me Thomas.

I need to remove myself and get some fresh air.

“I’m off to lunch,” I announce while I shove my hands in my pockets. “You want anything?”

“No, I’m good. I brought something from home.”

I nod and start to walk out. When I reach the door she calls my name.

“Thomas!”

I turn and notice the blue of her eyes. I give her my complete attention.

“Be back here by one. I don’t want you to be late this time.”

My lips curve to a smile as I open the door. “Yes, drill sergeant,” I joke as she gives me condescending smile.

“I’m not Lieutenant Dan, Thomas.” She’s teasing me and I see laughter play across her eyes. At least she has a sense of humor. And really, who doesn’t love Forrest Gump?

Release Event: Intimate by Noelle Adams

Title: Intimate

Author: Noelle Adams

Release date: June 17, 2013

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Age Group: New Adult/Adult

Goodreads link: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17899031-intimate

Book Description:
They've loved each other for years, but they've never been intimate before.

Marissa has decided to live without sex, since it's brought her nothing but trauma. At twenty-three, she'd rather just be celibate, and not even her best friend, Caleb, will change her mind.

After spending his childhood touring as a concert cello prodigy, Caleb is experimenting with living a stable life. For years, he has refused to commit to anything except his friendship with Marissa, but his feelings for her have never been romantic. Until recently.

So now he has to show her that sex doesn't have to hurt.

Book Excerpt

He stared at her in silence, wondering why everything had suddenly gotten so strange.

Then Marissa, still standing with her back to him, started towel-drying her hair, and her energetic shaking caused the fabric of the dress to shift.

Caleb’s eyes widened and his mouth dropped opened as he caught an unmistakable glimpse of crease and shadow beneath the very low cut of the back—cleavage of a different variety.

He turned on his heel, suddenly feeling as if he’d invaded her privacy. Their relationship had never been like this. He’d never seen her naked. Didn’t want to know what her nipples looked like, what her ass…

This was wrong. She had innocently accepted his presence in this room as a friend and a comfort. Exactly what he’d always been to her. And here he was, eyeing her like Kevin Davison at his leering, groping worst.

The shock of the bizarre situation must have temporarily affected his mind. This was Marissa. His best friend. His only friend. Not some random body for him to lust over.

He didn’t think about Marissa that way.

“Keep your back turned,” she said from behind him. “I’m changing clothes.”

Caleb tried not to picture it. Wasn’t about to turn around.

He heard her rustling, breathing, and then grunting in exasperation. “Bitch,” she muttered. “Must not have any boobs at all.”

He tried not to think about boobs. Particularly not Marissa’s. “Shirt doesn’t fit?” he inquired, shocked that his voice sounded normal.

“I can get it on,” Marissa said defensively. “But the damned thing won’t stay buttoned. I’ll have to wear the man’s shirt.” More fabric rustling. “Hopefully, this one will fit, or I’ll start to get self-conscious and have to go on one of those no-carb diets.”

That sounded so much like the Marissa he knew that he immediately relaxed. He chuckled appreciatively in response.
It had just been a temporary aberration. Nothing that meant anything. Nothing that would change anything. What they had was good, and he wasn’t going to ruin it with some fleeting horniness.

Marissa was a woman, after all, so obviously she had all of the female apparatus. He’d just never been confronted with it so abruptly before.

That must be all it was.

It would go away soon.

Book Trailer:

Book Description:
Roni’s dreams of becoming a contemporary dancer were smashed under the brutal rage of her ex-husband's fists. Getting divorced and starting over at the age of twenty-two was never her plan, but maybe in Texas, she'll find her path. When the town's local player, Rich, opens a Rec Center, she sees a way to rekindle her dancing dreams...and maybe have a little fun with her sexy new boss.

Rich never expected to fulfill his dreams in the town he planned to leave behind, but that's just what he's doing. His reputation as a noncommittal ladies' man might make it challenging to earn respect in the business world, but he's willing to prove that he's serious. In fact, when it comes to pursuing Roni, he's more than willing. But she's taking a page out of his book, not wanting to risk another relationship. Can he convince her that his playboy days are over and that she can trust him with her heart?

Book Excerpt:

She pushed the door open and peered inside. Her jaw dropped and her eyes seemed to freeze open at the site before her.
There was a makeshift bed in the corner, boxes strewn about the room, and a door that led into a small bathroom. In the center of the room Rich stood in nothing but basketball shorts. His very toned and naturally tanned body glistened with sweat as he worked the speed bag before him, his fist moving rapidly as they punched.
The quick curl of lust in her belly shocked Roni. She’d never had such an intense and immediate reaction to a man before. Even more shocking was the fact that it was Rich that caused her body to suddenly feel infused with liquid heat.
He hadn’t heard her enter. The music was too loud, and he was totally focused on pounding the bag.
Roni couldn’t look away. She felt a visceral need to touch. As the muscles rippled under his skin with each movement, her hands itched to feel.
Roni shook her head briefly. What was she thinking? This was Rich. A player. A Flirt. The exact opposite of the kind of guy she needed in her life.
Someone needed to explain that to her legs, she thought. They were about to give out.
Suddenly she realized that the movement before her had stopped. She shouted out, “Hey,” to get Rich’s attention, before he turned and caught her staring at him. The last thing she needed was for Rich to think she thought he was hot!
Rich wiped at his brow and turned, a grin spreading across his face when he saw her in the doorway. He held up a finger, to tell her to give him a second. He crossed the room and bent to turn down his iPod.
Roni stifled a grown at the sight of his ass as he bent over. Who knew a man’s ass could be so freakin’ tight? And his back… Good Lord!
Roni composed herself as he turned back towards her, but couldn’t help the jitters of happiness in her stomach, when he didn’t reach for a shirt.
“What’s up, Roni?” He seemed truly happy to see her.
“Hey,” She responded, trying to focus on his face. His brown hair was curling at the ends, damp with sweat. She didn’t understand why she found that so attractive. Maybe it had been too long since she’d had sex. It shouldn’t feel like she had to make a concerted effort not to throw herself at him. “Um, not much. I hope I’m not intruding.”
