An Interview with D N Simmons
Little Blurb about yourself:
Born and raised in Chicago IL., where I still reside. I love watching movies and TV shows that are packed with burned spies, killers who kill other killers, walking dead people, bloodsucking fiends and warring gladiators. I was recently nominated for Best UF/PNR book of 2012 and Best Book of 2012 for my novel Unholy Alliance: Knights of the Darkness Chronicles Final Chapter. I love music of all genres and I love reading, singing and dancing. I’m very happy to be a guest here, thank you so very much for having me. :D
1. Who or what inspired you to become a writer?
I’ve known I wanted to be a writer by the age of 11 when I started creating short horror stories.
2. How long did it take you to write The Guilty Innocent: Knights of the Darkness Chronicles Book Two?
One month. It took a bit longer to edit it. LOL! I actually wrote the first 3 books in 3 months.
3. While writing how many times do you go back and rewrite a plot?
When I’m writing, the plot flows from me with ease. I actually see it in my mind playing out like a movie. The only thing I do creatively while editing is make sure the story is consistent and logical.
4. You run into a bookstore, where do you go first?
Horror section, where I can find the newest paranormal romance, horror and urban fantasy novels.
5. How many books in a month do you tend to read?
Not as much as I’d like these days because of my own writing career and promotion. :D I’m lucky if I can read three books a month. LOL.
6. In all the books you've read. Who is your most favorite character and why?
I’m going to exclude my own series because that would be far too biased. :D Out of all the other books I’ve read, I’d have to say Armand from the Vampire Chronicles is my favorite, followed by Lestat and Ian from the Nighthuntress Series.
7. State 5 random facts about yourself.
1. I love anime.
2. I love wrestling, especially Shawn Michaels.
3. I’m terrified of spiders.
4. I hate spinach.
5. I love Joss Whedon.
8. Your favorite Genre?
I’d say (dark) Urban-fantasy. It’s the perfect mixture of other genres such as; romance, erotica, horror, thriller and paranormal. It’s a lot of fun to read.
9. What are you currently reading?
I just finished reading The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa and Incubus Moon by Andrew Cheney-Feid.
10. What is the best book you've read?
Tattooed Rood by Kyle Onstott and Lance Horner.
11. Any new projects coming up?
Oh yeah, I’m always working on something new. ;D
Here’s your chance to market your book. Describe it. And why readers should pick it up?
The Guilty Innocent is the second book of my Knights of the Darkness Chronicles.
In this tale, Darian, the gorgeous, charismatic and charming master
vampire of Chicago is framed for a crime he didn't commit, but why? His
lover, Xavier, Natasha and a few others must travel halfway across the
world to find out who and why before time runs out and all hell breaks
loose!
This series is unlike any other urban-fantasy/paranormal series out there. There is no main character or couple. It features straight, gay and bisexual characters and pairings. The action and passion is intense and no-holds-barred. The pacing is fast and the stories in each book are exciting and original. If you’re a fan of vampires and shifters and are looking for something unconventional and entertaining, then look no further than the Knights of the Darkness Chronicles. I like to think of it as an UF/PNR series for fans by a hardcore fan. :D

Natasha Hemingway liked her life just the way it was... normal and supernatural free. The vampires and shape-shifters were just where she wanted them to be--far away from her. All was going well until an unfortunate accident landed her in the hospital. It was then that she discovered she had an ability that could help her save countless lives.
