Author Interview: No Time for Love by JB Miller

Describe your book in five words or less.
Romantic comedy. True Love. Real.

How did the ideas for your books come to you?
I thought of so many mom’s I know that are too busy for themselves and often put love on the back burner. In “No Time For Love,” love finds a way. I think in real life, we all secretly hope that love will find us too.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
You can find true love whether or not you have loved and lost, have never loved at all or are simply too stressed or busy to be open to it.

What is the hardest part of writing for you? What's the easiest?
The hardest part of writing is finding a regular block of time. My days are very busy with work and family so I have to commit and not let interruptions distract me. The easiest part of writing is after about 15 minutes into it. I become so wrapped up in the characters that I often go over my scheduled block of time.

What's next for you? Are you currently working on or have plans for future projects?
I just finished a business book called HIRED! EXPERT ADVICE FROM A LEADING WALL STREET RECRUITER. I am an Executive Recruiter as my day job. The book is selling very well on Amazon. I have just started researching for my next book that combines history with a bit of mystery and fantasy. I am very excited about this project. Volume One will be a compilation of 4-5 short stories of about 100 pages each. They will leave the reader guessing.

Why did you choose to write for specific genre?
I chose to write for the Chick Lit genre because I wanted to write a book that was for women, was fun and was real and relatable. There is chaos but the novel has a Hollywood ending.

I am working on a proposal to my publisher for another Chick Lit book as well. In the meantime, I am moving over to historical fiction/thriller/mystery, addressing themes that we have all wondered about.

What's it like hearing that readers are eagerly awaiting your book's release date?
I love hearing from my readers and am so grateful for them. I always take the time to answer all of their emails. I especially like connecting with my readers in person during book signings.

What is one question that you've always wanted to be asked in an interview? How would you answer that question?
I love all of the questions I have been asked. I love the questions about my writing process, why I write what I write, how much of myself is in each book and what message I want to leave with the reader. Those are my favorite questions. I want the reader to question and wonder, but most of all, to be entertained.

What was your road to publications like?
Persistent. I never gave up.

About the Book:

Chatham Ross has no time – for anything, least of all love. She manages her three kid’s demanding schedules, exercises at crazy hours to preserve her less than perfect figure and writes catchy advertising jingles to pay for the mortgage. To the outside world, she seems to have it all – except for a husband. Who has time for that? Besides, hers died unexpectedly five years ago and she’s still not over it. A chance occurrence with a particular jingle finds Chatham on a bi-coastal roller coaster that she can’t seem to put the breaks on. Will the man who has always secretly loved her finally have his chance to ride along? Or will the very handsome foreigner on the other side of the country claim her wounded heart? At some point she has to choose which path is for her – or has it been there all along?

  1. We have a busy life, but my husband and I try to express love in little ways throughout the day, by text messages or short phone calls or a quick hug or kiss. I love when he surprises me with "just because" flowers too. Thanks for the giveaway!
